This site is focused on what it means to live an integrated, faithful life. I have also begun writing a series of short books. The first, TALK, explores how things like laughing, listening and learning are an important part of how we talk about faith with the people we find around us everyday.

The cover art for the book, and the background for this site, is Van Gogh's Starry Night over the Rhone. This painting captures, for me, the idea behind two of my favorites verses, Daniel 12:3 and Philippians 2:14-16, which both use the idea of stars as an image for what it means for God's people to share their faith. I get the sense that God is pointing us to a way of sharing our faith that is respectful and attractive, easy to see but not blinding. In other words, we should look like starlight, not a spotlight.

The Resources page has companion pieces to the book.

  • Living in the World - 2 Bible studies that explore the question of how God's people should see themselves int he world

  • Laughing, Listening, Learning - Bible studies on specific communication skills

  • TALK-ReMix - Chapters fromthe book rewritten to be shared with friends who might be uncomfortable witht the Bible

The second and third books, tentatively titled WORK and LIFE, explore the different kinds of tasks God has given us and what it means to live in a way that truly approaches all these tasks through an undivided life.
