Some of my goals in life are to always be happy, always be sure, always be confident and excited about what I need to do next. But, apparently, these were not Jesus’ goals.

If you are traveling internationally, a passport is a critical tool. It tells the world who you are and where you are from. Depending on where you are visiting, where you are from can prevent your entry or can open all kinds of doors. Similarly, where your heart comes from can have all kinds of effects.

What is stronger, a New Year's resolution or a slight inclination?

This little phrase from Paul’s letter to the early followers of Christ in Colossae has never really made sense to me:

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. (Colossians 3:12-13)

Saturday mornings can be rough. The weekend is starting, and there are 48 hours in front of me. What do I do with them? The problem isn’t so much “what do I need to do?” (that list is usually long, clear and urgent), but “what should I do?”
